avophile (GitHub)
Programming portfolio + technical blog, hosted free on GitHub Pages.
A static site that doubles as a working example of "you can host a real portfolio for zero euros if you do the work". Markdown blog, syntax-highlighted code samples, RSS feed, dark mode.
Challenge
Demonstrate the principles — own your platform, write clear code, document everything — using only the founder's own work as the case.
Solution
A custom Eleventy-style static generator written from scratch, deploying via GitHub Actions to GitHub Pages. Every layout decision is documented in a co-located README so visitors who clone the repo can read the rationale.
Result
Two clients have hired The Long Way after reading a blog post on the site. Bandwidth cost: zero. Annual hosting bill: zero.
